About the Founder
Hamid Shamshiri, Founder and Executive Chef of Shamshiri Grill, comes from a lineage of restaurateurs. His passion for food is rooted in family tradition and personal experience. Hamid began his professional culinary career in 1976 at “The Sunset House” restaurant in Hollywood, working under the guidance of his uncle.
He later became a chef at the prestigious House of Iran (Golestan), which was owned by the Royal Family of Iran. This experience cemented his dedication to the craft of Persian cuisine. In 1981, Hamid opened the first Shamshiri restaurant; laying the foundation for what would become a beloved Los Angeles institution.
For over four decades, Hamid has maintained a commitment to culinary excellence, customer service, and the spirit of Iranian hospitality. His legacy continues to thrive at Shamshiri Grill, where every meal tells a story of culture, passion, and flavor.
