Overview
Sheherazade Restaurant in Toronto.
Sheherazade reflects Persian food as is usually eaten in the bazaars (Dizi) or cooked out in nature on an open air grill (kabob), on the long days of summer, in the shade on the side of a mountain, by the riverside or in the baghs (gardens). The name and decor are inspired from a visit to Tehran where we encountered a gallery showing the works of 19th century Qajar painter Sani ol Molk. His works depict the legendary stories of 1001 Nights, the central figure, quintessential storyteller Sheherazade herself.
